Dutch soccer teams headed to Europe in March
The Central College men’s and women’s soccer teams will travel to the Netherlands and Germany March 14-21.
Hello folks! Sorry been a little sporadic with postings but WiFi connection has been tough. The last few days have been tremendous…the boys were trained by KNVB trainer Tom Vrenken and the girls by Jan Pruijn who was former Ajax Cape Town Coach and lead organizer of our adventure. We walked around Nijmegen which was wonderful during the day. We then went to SSS ’18 to play them with both the women and men. The women came from behind to win 2-1 with goals scored by Huma Liptak and Kallie Holte. The men lost 0-1 but we saw a lot of great performance and both matches were even.
The following day we went Dusseldorf Germany for shopping. The kids loved it and it is a beautiful city! We also did the War Museum in War Cemetary in Groesbeek. Then at night the girls traveled to VDZ and the boys to Alverna. Both teams were victorious!
Girls won 1-0 and very even game with goal scored by Abby Hillmer with Anissa Stanitzek. The men won 3-1 and Alex Glavas had two goals and Dennis Forrest for a great send off for the lads! Day 6 we are now in Nijmegen again after a training session by Jan for the boys and Remco for the girls. We also were able to fit in a castle tour in Nuremberg in Holland which was great. Tomorrow we are off to Volendam and Ajax women’s match!!!
Go dutch 😉
